Dr. Nathan Collins
Dental Education
The Indian Health Service
Armed with his new degree and a desire to make a difference in people’s lives, he joined the Indian Health Service and was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the United States Public Health Service. He served in the hospital facility at Santa Fe, NM working mainly with the Pueblo and Navajo tribes. Dr. Collins believes this unique opportunity gave him valuable experience interacting with different specialists and patients of all age groups, helping him see dental health as a team effort between not just doctor and patient, but family and community as well.
Private Practice
When his commission ended, he took a job in the private sector and quickly realized he wanted the freedom to be able to provide the same level of patient care he would want for his wife and family in a community he would be proud to call his home. While visiting Texas, he discovered Bastrop and after seeing the town and meeting some new friends, he decided this is where he wanted to open his office.
One Smile Dental
One Smile Dental opened its doors in May of 2012. Dr. Collins is proud of the quality of care One Smile Dental provides and strives to provide the best overall dental experience for all patients and their friends and relatives. After all, his family are patients here, too.
